Where to fish in Oxfordshire

The useful question is not where the water is, it is what you need before you can fish it. Everything below is grouped by that, and every line carries the date the claim was last checked rather than presenting itself as fact.

We hold ten waters here: nine river stretches and one lake.

By permission: six reported as club membership water, three as free fishing and one as club day ticket water. The three free waters are the hardest of these to establish and the most worth knowing.

Nine of the ten carry the river close season, 15 March to 15 June. The other one is reported fishable all year.

Species reported most often: chub at two, perch at two and roach at one. Reported by anglers, not surveyed.
